What Trials Come With Conducting Quality Renovation Painting?

Renovations can be a very trying time in the life of any fixer-upper job or project.

Then can often make or break the look of not just a room or living area, but the entire aesthetic of a house as well.

Add into the mix how many, if not nearly all, of such floorplans and changes can look good on paper but can result in entirely different matters and it can be easy to be discouraged at times.

As work continues to progress on though, a fine line eventually forms where between complete and utter chaos or stable, structured experience.

Interior kitchen painting is by far no exception to this teetering structure of home improvement.

Some painters focus more on speed rather than quality, while other may spend next to an entire day on painting only a handful of cabinets.

We pride ourselves on being the perfect middle for all your home improvement and renovation painting needs.

We never rush a project or make ourselves frenzied over the small stuff.

At the same time though, we still paint in an efficient and effective manner that doesn't require us working hour after hour on seemingly simple tasks.

Are We Good At Painting Tiny Bathrooms?

We're no stranger to bathroom painting, and this quick little project of bringing a smooth midnight blue to this customer's bathroom was a fairly simple undertaking which produced tremendous results.

This was a small hallway bathroom which was right within the front foyer area of the customer's home.

This space may seem pretty small and cramped to paint in, but trust us, we've worked in much tighter situations before.

We were very careful to remove everything which didn't need painting, such as a few hand towels, some sink accessories, and of course a large round mirror which was hanging above the sink.

Once these items were out, we went right to work changing the bathroom's bland, beige wall color to a strong, deep blue.

Services Performed: Commercial Cinder Block Store Wall Painting
Brief Explanation

Have We Previously Painted At This Location?

This project was actually Phase Two of our previous Costco excursion over in the Sandy City, Utah area.

In addition to repainting their interior auto department, they also had us work on the main front entrance cinder block walls as well.

These walls weren't nearly as susceptible to experiencing as much dust, grease, and/or spills when compared to the more blue-collared tempered walls in the auto center.

Still, they still looked like they were more than overdue for a well deserving upgrade and refinishing.

We took our time on this particular project to ensure that we didn't interfere with the regular operations of the main store entrance.

Additionally, this allowed us to maintain our commitment to quality painting that's done without being an excessive bother to either customers or store workers.

Services Performed: Bedroom & Ceiling Beam Painting
Brief Explanation

Have We Worked With This Customer Before?

We assisted a customer, Donna R., about a month ago with painting a bedroom upstairs along with a few ceiling beams as well.

We actually helped her out with painting her kitchen cabinet to which we've previously made a separate job post for with some truly stunning Before and After pictures.

Bedroom painting is by far one of if not THE most common project in which professional painters, such as ourselves, are hired to accomplish.

Ceiling beams, however, tend to be a little more out there. Thankfully, we're always prepared to reach any and every place possible with a paintbrush if a customer wills us to do so, and this was no exception.

Overall, this project was very time consuming, but the end results were well worth it. Not to mention that Donna R. give us a sizzling 5-Star review for this project along with a video testimonial of just how great we actually did.

Why Were We So Careful Around The Fan?

It's no surprise how we're always extremely cautious and considerate with every project that we have the pleasure of taking on.v

Plastic wrapping and taping can definitely be a time tedious task at times, but to neglect this absolute process will surely lead to disastrous outcomes.

The number one commandment of painting is not too far away from the popular concept of Murphy's law, "anything that can go wrong will go wrong."

When painting, it's more along the lines of, "anything that can be splattered with paint, will get splattered with paint."

We were especially careful to avoid getting any excess paint near, around, or on the fan which resided in the center of this room.

Just one wrong flick of a switch with even but a couple dabs of fresh paint here and there on the fan and ta-da!

Congratulations, a pristine bedroom has suddenly been turned into an experimental project in splatter-painting with a fan.

While this is fun to imagine, it would be a living nightmare to experience in reality. Thus, why the fan, in one of our Before pictures, looks like it's lived in plastic wrap its entire life.

What Did We Help Out With?

A customer over in the city of Centerville, UT had us come out and help paint a few of their doors along with some other surfaces around the house.

Easily one of the most dramatic transformations was in how their plain, oak-colored front door turned into a sleeks, modern work of art once it wore a cool, steel blue shade of paint.

Once all of our work was complete, our customer was exceptionally pleased with our work and mentioned that we were some of the best painters that they'd ever had the pleasure of working with.

Door(s) Overdue For Some New Color?

To start off, if you’re even asking yourself this question in the first place, then the answer is probably going to be, "Yes."

This doesn't have to be a negative experience.

People’s styles and preferences can change so subtly over time that one day you may just wake up and realize, "Wow. This door's color doesn't really work with the rest of the room anymore."

Or maybe all that's scratching away at you is just the color of your front door, the literal gateway to your home.

Whatever the case, just know that you don't need to worry.

Change can sometimes be hard, but thankfully, We're Here To Help.

Location of Job: Cottonwood Heights, UT
When: Apr 6, 2018
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Residential Kitchen Cabinet Painting
Brief Explanation

Why Does This Job Look Familiar?

Only a month ago or so did we complete a job almost exactly like this one.

We helped with the total transformation of a customer's plain oak kitchen cabinets into becoming absolute glimmering works of smart, white-stroked art.

We perform this type of service a fair bit, so we know by now what tends to work best, what doesn't, and how to make every residential cabinet painting project look as if it came straight out of a housekeeping magazine.

This particular one was performed in Cottonwood Heights versus our prior one which took place in Sandy City.

But as you can easily tell from the results, no matter where our customers are located, they're bound to receive amazing results when it comes to their cabinets getting painted.

What Made This Customer Stand Out From Our Other Regulars?

One specialty offer that we give to our customers is that whenever they refer us to another customer, we'll give them a $50 gift card for doing so.

In this specific case, we actually gave them a $50 gift card to Lowe's to help them out with any sort of other little home improvement projects or touchups that may need to address at some point on their own.

This is a simple way that we like to say thank you to our customers for referring us to their family, friends, and anyone else that they may meet who have some professional painting needs that could use our expertise and expert painting skills.

You can see Renee (the woman in the orange shirt) giving the $50 Lowe's gift card to our customer (the woman on the left) who seems very enthusiastic to receive it.  > > > > >

Location of Job: Sandy City, UT
When: Apr 25, 2018
Service Category: Commercial
Services Performed: Commercial Interior Garage Painting
Brief Explanation

What And Where Did We Paint?

We just finished up helped out Salt Lake City's one-and-only Costco Auto Service department with a new interior paint job in their garage.

The store had been thinking of giving this specific area a face-lift for some time, as evidently seen in some of the Before photos.

Once they finally decided that it was time to turn the quality of their auto service area up a notch, they knew to give us a call.

We provided a cashmere and block fill for most of the cinder block walls surrounding the inside of their work area.

This gave the area much more of a smoother look and finish and made it feel more like a sleek, modern think-tank space rather than an ordinary, everyday auto service shop.

How Did We Work Around Their Work?

By far the trickiest aspect of this venture was conducting the painting process around the mechanics and crew as they went about their day.

Thankfully, this isn't the first time we've worked under such semi-crowded conditions, so we knew exactly how to operate in a manner that was not only efficient but also respectful to the other workers around us.

We blocked off only the specific areas that we were working on clearly and concisely and made sure to keep all of our materials away from any nearby equipment or gear.

Painting can be a pretty messy business, but once the proper precautions and safety tapes are in place, it can become a fairly straightforward process to professionals such as ourselves.

As you can clearly see from some of our After pictures, the results turned out amazing, and we're thoroughly looking forward to working on our next commercial interior painting project.

Location of Job: Farmington, Utah
When: Apr 14, 2018
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Exterior House Painting
Brief Explanation

How Far Did We Go To Paint This House?

The customer's house, pictured above, was located in the Farmington area, which is some 15+ miles North of Salt Lake City.

We were delighted to go out this far to give them a hand with their updates.

What Did This Painting Project Entail?

The painting which was required for this house was extensive for sure.

The front face of our customer's home was splotched here and there with stains and general wear and tear.

By far the most severe issue which needed addressing though was to the right side of the house. Here, nearly half of the entire paint was peeling and withering away from existence (see Before pictures).

Thankfully our services were hired just in the nick of time. Now, if you have a quick look at the After pictures, you'll see a brand new coat of paint that washes away any traces of the previous images from memory.

This is just one of the reasons of why we love to do what we do. Being able to step back from our hard work and see with our own eyes the transformations that a fresh, clean coat of paint can give to a home.

There's not much else quite as satisfying in our book.

What Type Of Paint Did We Use?

For this job, we decided to use one of the best paints out on the market right now and that would be: Emerald Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint by Sherwin-Williams.

This is a gorgeous paint that really does offer the whole package. It's self-priming with an exceptionally amazing finish that also hides the previous coat with strength and security.

The paint itself also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It's sturdy in that it's resistant to: mildew, blistering, peeling, and even color fading as well.

This is THE top-of-the-line exterior paint that Sherwin-Williams currently offers, but even the best paint in the world is completely worthless without top-of-the-line painters, like us, to apply it.

Brief Explanation

What color did the cabinets use to be?

Before, they were your standard, run of the mill Oak. Not horrible, yet, nothing that stood out either. Just, Oak (which can be seen in the Before pictures).

What shade of White did we use on those cabinets?

With the wonders of a shade called Alabaster White, we turned this customer's wooden kitchen into a spotless, modern white wonder.

How Did We Do It?

This customer's kitchen cabinets reside over in Sandy City, UT, just next door to the South of Salt Lake City (our most popular residency).

Thankfully, their kitchen already had a lot of potential for a better feel. In this specific case, a white cabinet coating is just what the doctor ordered.

During our prep phase, we took off and lightly sanded down each cabinet. We then covered and taped off all non-paint surfaces including kitchen appliances, the floor, the backsplash, any nearby overhangs, surrounding windows, and so on.

Then, we finally went to work doing what we love.

Once all of it was done drying and being untaped, a conglomeration 42 cabinets, drawers, and cupboards were completely transformed into all-white our customer's kitchen into a vision straight out of a homecare magazine.

And here at Enterprise Painters, we pride ourselves on producing those same results over and over again, every single time.

Are White Cabinets A Great Choice For My Kitchen?

If only one main persuasion could be made to choose white over the rest of the possible colors that are out there for your kitchen cabinets, it'd probably be this: Versatility!

No matter your home's style, be it mild mid-Western, comfy contemporary, historian Victorian, slow suburban, or masculine modern, white kitchen cabinetry will likely deliver for whatever you're looking for.

The secret's in the simplicity. White represents purity, integrity, and acts as a virtual blank canvas not only to the mind's eye, but to the overall aesthetic of the space in which it resides as well.

White's reflectiveness also can't be ignored. As you can easily see in some of the After pictures that we've included that the kitchen pulls a total 180 as white versus the standard Oak.

The natural lighting coming from the window in expounded upon nearly 3 fold by the authentic blankness of the kitchen, overall making the look cleaner, fresher, and more open in general.

Furthermore, white kitchen cabinets are easier to clean in that you can see much more hidden dirt than normal when compared to your standard Oak color or more of a classic Cherry shade.

Everyone and their dog has thought about changing the color of their kitchen cabinets at some point in time. If that's you, then Call To Schedule Your Free Estimate Today!

That way, you won't have to pay your dog in bones to paint for you. Cause' he's expensive. And, he keeps leaving paw prints all over the wet paint.

Hi I'm Judith. I had hired Renee from Enterprise Painting to come and paint several rooms in my house and do some repair work. I am so pleased with the work! I loved it, it was great. There were really nice clean lines between the wall and the ceiling which always makes me happy. I thought it was fantastic. There was some repair work that needed to be done and that was great. And even some issues with matching paint and they figured that out without any problems. So I was very pleased with their work and I would hire them again.

My name is Melanie and I represent Legacy Preparatory Academy. We hired Enterprise Painters to come and give a new wing of our school a much needed facelift. They were fabulous to work with! I really appreciated the personal touch that Renee and Brock brought to their proposal, to the walkthrough, and to all of our communication throughout the process. They were great to work with and I was able to get ahold of them without any problems. Another huge, huge bonus for them was they were able to work within our time frame. We had a limited time frame where we were able to get the school clearance to work on this project and they were able to make it work with our schedule. And they not only worked with us that way, but were also able very competitive budget wise. And so we just loved working with them and I would highly, highly recommend them for any future project.

F.A.Q

1. What's Involved With Painting An Interior Door?

Answer:

A process that's key when painting an interior door is cleaning it off with some TSP (trisodium phosphate, a cleaner that's great for painting) or, if the door's a little less dirty, just some good ol' fashioned soap and water.

For the TSP route, we'll scrub down the door nice and good with a sponge or two that's been saturated in the paint cleaner.

The roughness and friction from the sponge help to break apart any lingering debris that may be ingrained within the door and also help give the door texture for the paint to properly adhere to.

If the soap and water is good enough though, then we make sure to wash off any excess soap or lingering bubbles once the door's had a once over or two from this method.

This makes sure that the paint won't break down from the inside or potentially be compromised in its ability to stick to the door and stay fresh for as long as possible.

2. Do We Paint With The Door On Or Off?

Answer:

One method that some use when painting a door involved taking the door off of its hinges, then paint one side of it, wait for it to dry, flip it, paint the other side, wait for that to dry, then reinstall it back into its hinges, which may or may not be too tight due to the paint.

However, we prefer a much simpler approach. We paint with the door still on its hinges.

That way, we can paint both sides fast without having to wait for either one to dry, and don't have to worry about getting the alignment right since this method doesn't require lining up those pesky holes for the door hinges.

3. Is Our Service Reasonably Priced?

Answer:

Certainly!

And if someone else is better on the budget, then we're able to price match the exact same products and services to ensure that you receive the best paint job possible.

Simply give us a quote from them in writing, and then we'll be good to go.

And while we can't give exact estimates over the phone, we'd be more than happy to give you one once we've had a proper look around your kitchen and how long the process may take for us to complete.

4. What Makes Us The Best Door Painters Around?

Answer:

We're a Fully-Insured, Fully-Licensed LLC that's family owned and operated.

We've worked on 100’s, (if not 1,000's) of projects over the years.

Every one of them holds our brand of quality painting done right with patience and integrity.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards.

Not only for our customers' sake but also for our own.

5. How Soon Can We Paint Your Door?

Answer:

As soon as you're ready for us too.

The sooner you call, the sooner we'll be able to set up a FREE Consultation time and date for you.

That way, you'll be able to meet us face-to-face, see what we're all about, and we can get a better understand as to what your current needs and wants are.

6. What's The Purpose Behind Our 5-Year Warranty?

Answer:

Here at Enterprise Painters, our word is our bond.

Whenever we're hired on for a project, we make sure that everything is done right The First Time.

If for any reason our paints or materials don't hold up for the next 5+ Years, we'll come out and make it all right for you.
