Job Details

Location of Job: Sandy City, UT
When: Mar 21, 2018
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Kitchen Cabinet Painting
Brief Explanation

What color did the cabinets use to be?

Before, they were your standard, run of the mill Oak. Not horrible, yet, nothing that stood out either. Just, Oak (which can be seen in the Before pictures).

What shade of White did we use on those cabinets?

With the wonders of a shade called Alabaster White, we turned this customer's wooden kitchen into a spotless, modern white wonder.

How Did We Do It?

This customer's kitchen cabinets reside over in Sandy City, UT, just next door to the South of Salt Lake City (our most popular residency).

Thankfully, their kitchen already had a lot of potential for a better feel. In this specific case, a white cabinet coating is just what the doctor ordered.

During our prep phase, we took off and lightly sanded down each cabinet. We then covered and taped off all non-paint surfaces including kitchen appliances, the floor, the backsplash, any nearby overhangs, surrounding windows, and so on.

Then, we finally went to work doing what we love.

Once all of it was done drying and being untaped, a conglomeration 42 cabinets, drawers, and cupboards were completely transformed into all-white our customer's kitchen into a vision straight out of a homecare magazine.

And here at Enterprise Painters, we pride ourselves on producing those same results over and over again, every single time.

Are White Cabinets A Great Choice For My Kitchen?

If only one main persuasion could be made to choose white over the rest of the possible colors that are out there for your kitchen cabinets, it'd probably be this: Versatility!

No matter your home's style, be it mild mid-Western, comfy contemporary, historian Victorian, slow suburban, or masculine modern, white kitchen cabinetry will likely deliver for whatever you're looking for.

The secret's in the simplicity. White represents purity, integrity, and acts as a virtual blank canvas not only to the mind's eye, but to the overall aesthetic of the space in which it resides as well.

White's reflectiveness also can't be ignored. As you can easily see in some of the After pictures that we've included that the kitchen pulls a total 180 as white versus the standard Oak.

The natural lighting coming from the window in expounded upon nearly 3 fold by the authentic blankness of the kitchen, overall making the look cleaner, fresher, and more open in general.

Furthermore, white kitchen cabinets are easier to clean in that you can see much more hidden dirt than normal when compared to your standard Oak color or more of a classic Cherry shade.

Everyone and their dog has thought about changing the color of their kitchen cabinets at some point in time. If that's you, then Call To Schedule Your Free Estimate Today!

That way, you won't have to pay your dog in bones to paint for you. Cause' he's expensive. And, he keeps leaving paw prints all over the wet paint.

1. How Many Shades Of "White" Are There?

Easily over 1,000+, surprisingly.

To help narrow down your search a little for that perfect shade, here are some of our favorite go-to Whites...

1 - Alabaster (the type easily seen in the After pictures)
2 - Super
3 - Big Chill
4 - Extra
5 - Pure
6 - White Diamond
7 - All White
8 - Swiss Coffee
9 - Whisper
10 - Silky

2. Why Sand Cabinets Before Painting Them?

Don't worry, your painters won't power-sand your cabinets or purposely try to take away all hints of their previous colors. Yet, a light pre-sanding is a key process that few often think of when getting their cabinets painted.

What the sanding phase does is remove all the excessive, grimy grease and oil that build up on your cabinets after a long period of time.

By sanding before painting, this gives the wood a more textured surface which better allows for optimal adherence for both the paint and primer to stick and stay on the surface.

So don't freak out if your painter whips out a palm sander and starts going to town on your kitchen drawers. Just trust that they're going to look much better as a result.

3. Should I Get My Cabinets Painted?

While that's rather a more personal decision that we don't recommend you make on a whim, we've definitely seen many a kitchen transform simply from being under our brush, and it truly is an awe-inspiring sight to behold.

In addition to a new small talk subject of interest, aesthetic prowess and changes of pace, having your cabinets painted can often amount to increases in your property's overall value and net worth.

4. Are Our Kitchen Painting Prices Reasonable?

We price match the exact same products and services to ensure that you receive the best paint job possible.

And while we can't give exact estimates over the phone, we'd be more than happy to give you one once we've had a proper look around your kitchen and how long the process may take for us to complete.

5. Why Choose Us To Paint Your Kitchen Cabinets?

We've been painting since 1990. That tallies up to nearly 4 Decades of experience in our field!

With that in mind, when it comes to figuring out how to paint those tricky or hard-to-reach places, chances are we've already painted several others just like it.

Additionally, we pride ourselves on punctuality, quality and the satisfaction of all of our customers. Guaranteed!
